Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has recently surpassed its predecessor, Black Panther, and is now setting a major all-time box office record as of writing. Not only is it declared ‘fresh’ on Rotten Tomatoes, but it also served its purpose by paying tribute to T’Challa and Chadwick Boseman. Even though it is meant to honor the actor’s death, it doesn’t step away from the film to make light comedic jokes amid the heavy atmosphere. In fact, one of the funniest lines in the film was actually improvised by Winston Duke. Can you guess which line I’m talking about?
Recently, Winston Duke tweets about his character’s role in the Black Panther sequel. You can check out his tweet below:
At first glance, you would assume M’baku would have said this line to an enemy, to Namor, but it was actually a great diss comeback to one of his fellow Wakandans, Okoye.
In the Wakanda Forever scene, as M’Baku was getting a mouthful from Okoye (played by Danai Gurira), “If your muscle brains were present, they would still be there, choking on their fuzzy adornments.”
In an attempt to respond with a meaner diss, the audience roared with laughter when M’baku surprisingly replies with, “You baldheaded demon!” Earning a scolding from Queen Ramonda herself to show respect to his colleague.
In fact, the scene had earned so much credit to Winston Duke that some of the fans are looking forward to an M’baku spinoff or TV show. Check out some of the fan reaction tweets to the scene below:
