The family has been through so much over the past four seasons, and with so much at stake in Yellowstone season 5, we may just see a new grave on the Dutton ranch.
Why Does Someone Have to Die in Yellowstone Season 5?
The Dutton family has been able to go through the past season with some relative damage, narrowly escaping death. The Duttons have survived assassination attempts, bombings, kidnappings, ambushes, and even dying from an illness so many times that their luck is bound to dry up. One major indication that someone may be dying in Yellowstone Season 5 would be Kayce’s visions from season 4. When the season ended, we saw Monica asking Kayce about his visions, and all he said was, “I saw the end of us.” There were no further explanations that made this statement open to interpretation. It could mean a lot of things, but when coupled with show co-creator Taylor Sheridan’s statement when he spoke with Entertainment Tonight, signs point to someone dying.
Who Will be Dying in Yellowstone Season 5?
Out of all the Duttons, the patriarch John Dutton may be the most likely character to die. Though he has faced death many times before, John Dutton always survived, but he may not be so lucky this time in season 5.
Why John Dutton Has to Die
John Dutton has to die in season 5 because the series has to end, one way or another. His death would make the most sense, harsh as it may sound, because it would be the catalyst for the resolution of many issues in the series. The lives of the Dutton children are heavily influenced by their father’s presence and the need for his approval, that if he dies, they will be forced to grow and to get to know themselves more. John Dutton’s death would also mark the end of this arc in the ranch.
