The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Story
Since The Hunger Games movies have been adapted from their namesake novels, it’s almost a guarantee that we’ll see the same treatment for The Hunger Games prequel. In The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, we meet a very different President Snow (played by Donald Sutherland) compared to The Hunger Games movies. Firstly, he goes by the nickname, Coryo (played by Tom Blyth). Even though he is from an affluent family, Coryo was actually an orphan and lived with his poor grandmother. If you’ve read the novel, you probably already know that Coryo mentors Lucy Gray Baird (played by Rachel Zegler), a young tribute for the 10th annual Hunger Games. The two bond together throughout the journey, which turn into a romantic relationship. But their social standing becomes a hindrance to the two. We obviously know that Coryo becomes a dictator in the end. But it’s interesting to see him as a young man and the events in his life that lead him to this path.
