In a recent interview with TVLine, head writer Jessica Gao confirmed that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law takes place “not too far” after the events of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. “It’s not, like, years later. It’s a relatively short amount of time,” she explained.
Considering that Bruce Banner appeared in the post-credits scene of Shang-Chi in his human form and the promos of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law hinted that the character is also in his human form at the beginning of the series before Jennifer Walters becomes the hero, it makes sense that the upcoming series takes place sometime after the film.
There’s also the fact that Abomination, who will have a prominent role in the series, made his much-awaited comeback in Shang-Chi and also formed some sort of friendship with Wong, who is also set to appear sometime during the series.
As the report noted, with its timeline in the MCU now set, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law should be at least taking place (if not at the same time) before Eternals, Spider-Man: Far from Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Hawkeye.
It looks like we finally have the clarification on the show’s exact setting in the MCU and this should settle down some fans who have been confused about the timeline post-Blip. It would be interesting to see now how it will play into the entire franchise and its ramification for the future of the franchise.
