Aside from being the first trailer for the film with English subtitles, it also shows new footage and features an original song. Check out the trailer from the TOHO YouTube Channel here: At 1 minute and 41 seconds long, this trailer is longer than the previous teaser, and it shows off more of the movie’s beautiful visuals. The song used in the trailer is entitled “Suzume” and it should also excite fans of the director Shinkai’s work as it evokes a similar vibe to the songs in his previous films. “Suzume” is performed by Nanoka Hara, the voice actor of the film’s main heroine (also called Suzume). This trailer marks the first time that we hear her voice for the upcoming movie. Nanoka Hara’s role as the heroine was announced last week. While this is Hara’s first voice acting role, she has appeared in several live-action movies and shows, including the high school drama Mune ga Narunoha Kimi no Sei and the drama series Guilty Flag 2. Suzume no Tojimari is the next movie by renowned anime director, Makoto Shinkai. The director is known for his works such as Your Name and Weathering With You, with both films being big box office hits worldwide. Suzume no Tojimari follows Suzume, a 17-year-old from Kyushu. Suzume meets a young man who is looking for a mysterious door in the mountains. She is able to find this door, but she is pulled in. This turn of events triggers other mysterious doors that open across Japan which spark a wave of disaster. Suzume must then journey across the country to lock these doors and prevent more disasters. The Suzume no Tojimari release date in Japanese cinemas is on November 11, 2022. Following its Japanese run, the film will release in theaters internationally in early 2023. Distribution of the film in the rest of the world except Asia will be handled by Crunchyroll.
