There have been previous reports indicating that the new MCU project was scheduled to start filming in July. However, production was reportedly pushed back to September. So will Blade finally begin production this month? According to KFTV, Blade is now expected to start filming on October 5, 2022 (via The Cosmic Circus). The report also states that the projected end date is on January 28, 2023.
This is great news considering that we haven’t been getting any updates on the Mahershala Ali project for some time. However, it is also important to remember that Marvel Studios has not included the film in its current roster. In addition to that, the production start and end date were not officially confirmed by Marvel. Stay tuned for more updates on this story. In addition to Mahershala Ali, the Blade reboot will star Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre, whose casting had people speculating on the undisclosed role. One of the more interesting theories suggests that Pierre will play a new version of Hannibal King, a former vampire who was created by Deacon Frost. In the comics, King is connected to Blade whose mother was bitten by Frost when she was pregnant with the vampire hunter, effectively turning Blade into a Dhampir. The character was previously played by Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds in Blade Trinity. Blade has not yet been given an official release date. However, the MCU reboot is expected to hit theaters sometime between next year and 2024. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
