Despite the Guardians making a brief appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder, it turns out that none of the events that took place in the film will affect GOTG Vol. 3. During ScreenRant’s post-San Diego Comic-Con interview with the MCU and DCEU director, he revealed that Thor 4 won’t have any impact on his final MCU flick.He shared: “No, I wrote the script without ever thinking that they were ever going to be with Thor, so it hasn’t affected them at all.” Gunn also reiterated that the God of Thunder isn’t going to be part of Volume 3 despite reestablishing the “Asgardians of the Galaxy” in Avengers: Endgame.Interestingly, Chris Pratt revealed during an interview with Inverse that the space goats featured in Love and Thunder are now in the care of the Guardians, leaving Gunn with no choice but to include them in the film.Also Read: James Gunn Reveals Reason Behind Lack of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Footage at SDCCAs it stands, we’re not entirely sure what Gunn meant when he said the Guardians as a team will cease to exist after the third film.
