Remember that Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 took place a year after the movie and yet Geto is still the antagonist. Did Gojo just decide to let his best friend go? Did the special grade sorcerer believe that Geto could still change his perspective? What really happened in that alley?
How Did Geto Survive the End of Jujutsu Kaisen 0?
Technically, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 did not show how Gojo killed Geto so there is a chance that he did not die there. His wounds would have been treated and he could be feeling brand new a year after, ready to follow his ideologies once again. However, in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 90, it has been confirmed that Gojo did kill Geto. But how is that even possible? It was revealed that Gojo did not allow Jujutsu High to take Geto’s body. This is where Kenjaku entered the scene, an ancient sorcerer, who implanted his brain into Geto’s body to acquire his abilities. Manga fans speculate that this will be explained by Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 and an even more thorough explanation about who controls the body might be revealed by season 3, if the supernatural fiction series will have one.
Why Kenjaku Chose Geto as His Latest Target
Kenjaku has taken over bodies for years, considering that his cursed technique allows him to transplant his brain into various bodies and possess them. His latest target is Suguru Geto, who he chose because of the antagonist’s Cursed Spirit Manipulation that allowed Geto to control curses he exorcises. Geto is known as an extremely powerful sorcerer who almost succeeded in stealing Rika from Yuta. By the time that Kenjaku possessed Geto, there were already more than 1,000 curses inside of the sorcerer, giving Kenjaku a great advantage. Aside from the multiple powers from various cursed spirits, Kenjaku also now has Idle Transfiguration thanks to Geto. Kenjaku won the lottery when he got Geto. Combining their powers and abilities made Kenjaku a formidable opponent; it is quite interesting to see how Yuji Itadori and the rest of the team will defeat him.
